According to Goodreads...

Alexis Wyndham is the other type of Queen B—the Queen Bitch.

After years of being the subject of ridicule, she revels in her ability to make the in-crowd cower via the exposés on her blog, The Eastline Spy. Now that she's carved out her place in the high school hierarchy, she uses her position to help the unpopular kids walking the hallways.

Saving a freshman from bullies? Check.
Swapping insults with the head cheerleader? Check.
Falling for the star quarterback? So not a part of her plan.

But when Brett offers to help her solve the mystery of who’s posting X-rated videos from the girls’ locker room, she’ll have to swallow her pride and learn to see past the high school stereotypes she’s never questioned—until now.

My Opinion...

I received an e-copy through Xpresso Book Tours in exchange for a review, but in no way does that impact my opinion.

Confessions of a Queen B* follows Alexis, the Queen B* of her high school, as she she tries to figure out who is the culprit behind posting videos from the girls' locker room while juggling a health class project that she is partnered with the most popular guy in school. Alexis clearly has a full plate, but she won't let her tough exterior that she has created through bringing to light scandals of the students from her school on her blog. The student body fears her, except for one person. Will he break through and see the softer side of Alexis?

I thoroughly enjoyed reading Confessions of a Queen B*. To be honest, I flew through it way too fast. Brett and Alexis are paired up for a two week project where they have to be parents to a realistic baby doll. Have any of you had this project? My school offered a health class, but we never had to take care of a fake baby for a period of time. I wish we did though. Over the two weeks, Brett and Alexis learn things about each other. For Alexis, she realizes that stereotypes can be wrong. What you see is not what you get all the time. Just because someone may have a huge house and a high GPA doesn't mean that she/he is truly happy.

I loved watching the sexual tension play out between Brett and Alexis! There was no insta-love, which made me extremely happy. Alexis was hurt in the past by someone close to her, and she stays true to herself to the very last word in the book. She has that fear of being betrayed again, so it was refreshing to read from a point of view of a character who doesn't miraculously get over a deep hurt from the past.

Even though I wish the ending could have been a bit different, I understand and respect McHugh for ending the book the way she did. I highly recommend Confessions of a Queen B* to those who are looking for a relaxed read with romance that allows a lesson to be taken away from it. I look forward to reading the future books of the Queen B* series!

Meet the Author...

Growing up in small town Alabama, Crista relied on story-telling as a natural way for her to pass the time and keep her two younger sisters entertained.

She currently lives in the Audi-filled suburbs of Seattle with her husband and two children, maintaining her alter ego of mild-mannered physician by day while she continues to pursue writing on nights and weekends.

Just for laughs, here are some of the jobs she’s had in the past to pay the bills: barista, bartender, sommelier, stagehand, actress, morgue attendant, and autopsy assistant.

And she’s also a recovering LARPer. (She blames it on her crazy college days)
